A 30-YEAR-OLD man missed the birth of his baby because of bail conditions that prevented him having any contact with the mum.

Shaun Booth told Blackburn magistrates he had been asked to go to the hospital by his partner to see their newborn child but the midwife had turned him away.

Booth, of Russell Court, Burnley, pleaded guilty to damaging a a washing machine, a light switch and an internal door belonging to Tamera Potter.

He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £300 compensation, £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

Enza Geldard, prosecuting, said on the day of the incident Booth and Miss Potter had been arguing over little things and as the day went on it became more heated and they started shouting at each other.

"He kicked a door and punched a light switch and she told him to leave," said Mrs Geldard.

"He refused and when she went upstairs to call the police he shouted up that he had damaged the washing machine.

"She says she doesn't feel safe being near him when he loses his temper like that."
