POLICE are appealing for information after jewellery was stolen in Burnley.

The incident took place between 12.45pm and 6.30pm on Monday (November 14), a property was raided on Lowerhouse Lane.

Thieves gained entry to the home and took a number of sentimental items, including distinctive jewellery containing the ashes of the victim’s son.

Among the items taken also included a handmade ruby pendant, a number of wedding rings, cash and various electrical products were also taken.

Police are appealing for information following the theft and would like to speak to anyone who can assist with enquiries.

PC Cat Horner, of Burnley Police, said: “This crime has left the victim devastated and we are asking for the public’s help in recovering a number of personal and sentimental items.

“No one should have to suffer having their home raided by thieves and we are keen to trace the jewellery taken.

“If you have seen these pieces please contact police immediately.

“Furthermore, if you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Lowerhouse Lane area during the time of the offence, please call us.”
