The business provided food and drink in the daytime and became a fully operational bar and nightclub at weekends.

It is currently unclear if anyone is going to take on the club in the foreseeable future.

The bar’s manager, Gemma Flatt, had been in charge for three years before she announced the closure on Facebook.

Ms Flatt said: “It is with great sadness I am confirming to you all the rumours are true and we are closing on Saturday.

“I have loved running The Mix and meeting so many lovely people from doing so.

“I will honestly take away great friendships with me.

“November 12 will be our final night and I hope to see many of you there to go out in style.

“I’m sure Burnley will miss The Mix as much as I will miss being there.”

Dozens of people paid tribute to the club on social media.

James Dillion, from Colne, said: “It’s a shame the club is closing, I haven’t been in a long time but I used to work there when it first opened, it was a great time.”

Cllr Andrew Newhouse, who represents Cliviger and Worsthorne, said he had high hopes for another bar to take it’s place.

He said: “There have been quite a lot of changes in the town centre in recent years with a lot of places sadly going.

“But people’s habits change, people’s tastes change and I’m sure it won’t be long until another manager comes along and puts something there.

“It was a popular bar and was there for a few years, It was never my scene but I’m sure it will be missed by many.”

Ms Flatt said her customers would not be without music for long as she was planning to open another bar in the town.

She said: “I’m not planning on going far though as I will be taking over the sidewalk building and hopefully taking a lot of you guys over there with me.

“A lot of work is under way to make the new bar a great place to be both day and night.

“A new name and more information will follow, but in the mean time I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all our customers.”

“I hope to see as many of you as possible before the doors close, it really has been a great.”
