A YOUNG boy is in danger of 'losing his eye' after he was hit by a firework at a private display, police said.
Officers were called to the incident at The Railway Club in Rosegrove Lane, Burnley, at around 7.45pm.
The 10-year-old boy was standing behind the safety barrier with his parents when he was hit causing him facial injuries.
He remains at Royal Blackburn Hospital where he has received surgery, police said.
Officers said that no fireworks were thrown and they are not suspecting any neglect or deliberate act.
A 60-year-old woman and an eight-year-old girl also suffered minor injuries.
Police have contacted Lancashire County Council and the Health and Safety Executive in connection with both incidents.
Investigations about the cause of the incident are ongoing.
