ANOTHER bar in Burnley town centre is bidding to open until 6am.

James Nelson, of Bar Pharaoh, is asking the borough council for permission to open until daybreak Mondays to Sundays.

Earlier this year Bar Blu, in Cow Lane, attracted controversy when council licensing bosses ordered a review for the venue, amid concerns expressed that town centre street sweepers were being harassed by revellers.

But the venue’s legal team successfully argued that Bar Blu appeared to be taking the rap for a number of other late-opening bars.

Representations on the Bar Pharaoh application must be lodged with Burnley Council.
