The evening was organised by accountant John Fallows, whose business is in Lyndhurst Road, Burnley, and his daughter Lauren, an English teacher at St Wilfrid’s Academy, Blackburn.
John said: “It was the second year we had run the casino evening in memory of my dad who died of cancer. It was a fantastic night and raised around a thousand pounds more than last year. We decided to donate the largest amount to Gail Simpson, a friend who died of ovarian cancer last November.”
Christina Cope, of Pendleside, said: “We can’t thank John and Lauren enough for their donation.”
