TWO off-road motorbikes will be crushed after police caught boy racers on the streets of Burnley.
Officers were scrambled to the Stoneyholme/Daneshouse area of the town at 6.30pm on Tuesday after reports of two bikers speeding on an estate.
PCSO Mohammed Waqas, of the Burnley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "There has been a persistent nuisance of off-road motorcycles being driven around the streets of Burnley and using the canal tow path as a race track.
"I am happy to report that patrols managed to catch both the bikes and riders on the canal in the Colne Road area.
"Both bikes have been seized under S.165 of the Road Traffic Act and both riders reported for traffic offences. The bikes will be crushed.
"Many thanks to the community for their help in this matter. Please don't stop ringing in with your reports when it is happening and/or with any information as to who the perpetrators are."
