A MUM-OF-THREE was so impressed with a non-invasive liposuction alternative that she invested £20,000 in opening her own clinic.

The treatment, which takes about 30 minutes, involves freezing a stubborn area of the body fat using a vacuum type head – and clients have already boasted inch loss overnight.

The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons said although the result are visible, the procedure should only be carried out or supervised by a trained medical professional.

Clare Greaves, who opened the clinic in October, said: “I’d had a tummy tuck for medical reasons to fix damaged muscles.

“It left me with a pouch of fat on my hips which I couldn’t shift using a good diet, personal trainer and exercise.

“I was looking into liposuction when I found this treatment in Manchester.

“It worked so well I bought two machines, costing around £10,000 each and had the training on how to operate it safely.

“I had just had a year off with my little boy and I was ready for my next venture career wise. I had a lightbulb moment while having the treatment.

“I was so amazed with the results.

“It worked really quickly for me and it had an almost immediate impact.

“I had a two inch loss overnight which was a real wow.”

Clare said clients need to be in general good health and not on medication. Clients also need to have more than 20 per cent body fat in the area to be treated.

A protective membrane is placed on the skin before the suction head is placed on the target area and cooled.

The fat cells are frozen and break down during the 30 minute treatment.

Clients are advised to drink two litres of water to see the full results.

Kevin Hancock from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons said: “There is evidence to show it does work, but there are risks.

“If you freeze a fat cell it shatters and breaks down. If you over do the freeze, it can damage the skin and that’s one of the potential problems.

“The fat cell is broken down by the body and excreted through the liver.

“If you have any pre existing liver problems this can cause problems.”
