THREE award-winning parks in Burnley are hosting a family fun day this weekend.
Brun Valley Forest Park together with Queen’s Park and Thompson Park are staging the town’s Forest Park Festival on Sunday, June 21, between noon and 4pm.
And Burnley Council leader Mark Townsend says he will be setting up a surgery to listen to residents.
He said: "I’ll be going up to the festival to take part and see what is going on. The Forest Park is a great idea, linking up new green spaces with some of our well established parks and putting new facilities in place.
"Because there will be a good number of Burnley residents there, I’ve decided to hold this month’s ‘out and about’ surgery at the festival."
Cllr Townsend will be at the Burnley Council trailer outside the Thornton Arms between 1pm and 2.30pm.
Anyone can raise their points and questions about local services and issues for the town, and get information on council services.
There will be plenty happening to make the most of the Father’s Day, including many ‘have-a-go’ activities such as bird box making, juggling workshops, shooting range and treasure hunts.
Children will have an opportunity to get their faces painted, splash about at the paddling pool, bounce on a giant inflatable or go on a donkey ride.
There will be food stalls set up in Queen’s Park and barbeque available at the Brun Valley Forest Park by the Rowley Lake and Thornton Arms.
