BEGGARS targetting shoppers in Burnley town centre have been made the focus of a new police crackdown.
Officers said that the offenders have been asking for money in Keirby Walk and the car park next to Wilkinson in Curzon Street.

A spokesman said: “We are managing these individuals, and urge people not to give them money. They have homes and access to money.
“If you are feeling charitable it’s better to give it to a proper charity, at least then it will be spent properly.”
