A BOOK of remembrance compiled by Pendleside Hospice - in the wake of their Light Up A Life campaign - is now ready for inspection.

More than 8,000 names feature in the Reedley organisation's masterwork for 2014, penned by those who dedicated an illumination to a lost loved one.

The leatherbound book will be kept on display on reception at their headquarters for contributors to examine.

Hospice fundraising manager Kaye Bartle said: "Light up a Life is a very special time of year for us at the hospice as it gives us the opportunity during the hustle and bustle in the run up to Christmas to reflect and remember our loved ones who are no longer with us and who lit up our lives in a special way.

"The lights shine out all over Christmas as a reminder of the love we hold in our hearts. When the lights come down we start to compile this special book so that people can come and spend some reflective time at other times of the year."

Donations for Light Up A Life in 2014, backed by Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, saw a record £110,000 collected. New dedications can be made for 2015 by calling 01282 440120.
