WORK has begun on a new £2.6million project to construct 23 new homes on part of the former Rileys factory site in Padiham.
Airevale Homes and Harbur (corr) Construction are behind the ambitious scheme for the old snooker table manufacturer’s land on Station Road.
Known as Calder Green, the development includes two, three and four-bedroom properties and is part of a wider project to bring 120 new homes to the town.
Christian Bury, director at Manchester-based Harbur Construction, said: “The scheme will help regenerate a dilapidated site while keeping in with plans Burnley Borough Council has for the area.”
The scheme is the third phase of building and is set to be completed by April.
