OPERA star Jonathan Veira is taking a break from the London Royal Opera House to bring his one-man show to Burnley.

The singer, who is a regular performer on BBC Television's Songs of Praise and has appeared in the world's top opera house, will be appearing at St Peter's Church, Burnley, on Friday, November 21.

As well as performing a selection of songs ranging from opera, gospel and pop, he will be telling stories of his life.

Jonathan said: "I love having the freedom to tell the stories of my life in an open, honest, and mostly funny way.

"I believe that all this together makes my show unique."

Organiser of the event, Rev Leroy Bowtell, minister of Rosehill Baptist Church, said: "We are very fortunate to get Jonathan. He is so much in demand but has made time to visit us in Burnley and we hope to get a good crowd. It will be a night of pure entertainment from one of the country's leading singers."

Tickets are £8 in advance, £10 on the door and are available by contacting Leroy Bowtell on 07737 708795 or wytha@talk21.com.

Tickets are also available from Bethesda URC coffee bar and Burnley Methodist Circuit Office.
