A ‘ROAD rage’ cyclist said to have been knocked off his bike by a motorist threatened the driver — but couldn't remember any of it, a court heard.
Burnley Magistrates Court was told how Wesley Paul Alderson, 34, was seen to produce a baseball bat by a witness and wave it above his head as if he was going to hit the driver.
The victim herself didn't make a complaint and the defendant, who had had drugs and drink issues at the time, didn't know what he had done.
Alderson, of Leyland Road, Burnley, admitted possessing an offensive weapon.
He was bailed for a pre-sentence report.
Nick Cassidy, defending, said Alderson had been going through a rough patch and had very little recollection of events.
He added: “He's thoroughly ashamed of his behaviour..”
Mr Cassidy said the defendant had since been to Inspire, the drink and drugs service.
He added: “He would have some difficulty riding a bicycle with a baseball bat.”
