TWO coffee loving Clarets went ‘on loan’ as baristas to raise money for charity.

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton lent a hand, along with team-mate David Jones, at Costa Coffee in Burnley's Tesco supermarket to help boost funds for the Costa Foundation – an independent charity that aims to eradicate poverty in coffee-growing communities.

The duo took time out after training to serve customers drinks ranging from cappuccinos to fruit coolers, and Jones admitted it was quite tough to tackle being on the other side of the counter.

“Me and Tom used to come in here for coffee so we got to know the staff, they're good people and they asked if we'd come in,” said the midfielder.

“It's definitely harder on the serving side.

“It does look as if a lot's going on sometimes so I knew it was going to be difficult but I wanted to learn how to do it.

“I never had a part-time job when I was younger, it’s always been football, so it's been a good experience and nice to get involved.

“I enjoyed it.”
