CLARETS boss Sean Dyche has been immortalised in song by four supporters to honour his achievement in securing prom-otion last season.
‘Cut Across Dychey’ pays tribute to the boss and his players who returned the Clarets to the Premier League after a five-year hiatus.

Barrie Sharpley and Tony Cummings perform vocals on the track, with Mike Guttridge playing guitar, and it has been produced by Ken Stott. All four are Turf Moor season ticket holders.
Barrie, who performs with Mike in the local band Two Shades of Grey, said: “After the success of last season a few of us thought it would be good to pay tribute to Sean and the team with a song.
“We came up with an old Eddie Cochran song called Cut Across Shorty and changed the lyrics to Cut Across Dychey.
“The original song is about the little guy out-smarting the big guy, so it works brilliantly. Burnley were the little guy in the Championship but we ended up getting promoted.”
The group, who have called themselves the True Colours, have also recorded a video to go with the one minute, 45 seconds song, filmed in locations across Burnley with young Clarets fans.
They now hope the song will become a hit with Sean and Turf Moor regulars.
“Ideally we want to get the song to Sean,” said Barrie, who lives in Worsthorne.
“We want the club to be behind it really, so it can be played at the ground and we can push it with them and sell it to raise money for charity.
“Hopefully we can get a copy to Sean and he will like it. We would love the fans to start singing along with it.”
Before it can be released, though, they need to secure copyright approval from Universal in America, which they are confident will be accomplished within the next few days.
“Because we’ve changed the lyrics they have to make sure we aren’t changing the meaning of the song,” said Barrie, “but I think it’s clear that it fits brilliantly.
“They probably haven’t heard of Sean Dyche at Universal, but it might not be long in the future before they do.”
‘Cut Across Dychey’
Now a builder’s boy called Charlie
Went and left us in the lurch,
He liked the look of Ole Harry’s twitch
Supporters feared the worst
But Sean had seen this coming
So he built us from the back
And when Forest turned up undercooked
Little Billy got the sack.
Well cut across Dychey, Dychey cut across
That’s what the Longside said.
Cut across Dychey, Dychey cut across
We’re Clarets born and bred.
The Rovers game came calling
No nay never was the cry
The Clarets never win at Ewood Park
With Dunny in their side
But just like that old story
About the turtle and the hare
When the Rovers crossed the finish line
They found the Clarets waiting there.
Well cut across Dychey, Dychey cut across
That’s what the Longside said .
Cut across Dychey, Dychey cut across
We’re Clarets born and bred.
Now Dychey wasn’t worried
With a McLaren in the race
The Wigan game was coming fast
That could lead to a Premier place
Danny Ings with his swift feet a-flying
But no Vokesy by his side
Yet when Deano caught the ball just right
Ashley took it in his stride
Well cut across Dychey, Dychey cut across
That’s what the Longside said.
Cut across Dychey, Dychey cut across
We’re Clarets born and bred
We’re Clarets born and bred
We’re Clarets born and bred!
