TWO new tenants have signed up to the £50million Burnley Bridge Business Park.

In June YESSS Electrical became the first company to sign a deal to occupy a unit at the 70-acre former Hepworth’s site, off junction nine of the M65.

Now Birchall Foodservice, a catering wholesaler currently based on the Network 65 business site, has taken the 64,100 sq ft Cobalt Building and Equinox Building Services Ltd, a general builder, electrical contractor and groundworks specialist, has taken a 3,500 sq ft unit at Magnesium Court.

Justin Birchall, operations director at Birchall Foodservice, said: “Our company has enjoyed substantial growth in recent years to the extent that we have now outgrown our existing premises.

“As a business we are looking to extend our already substantial product lines and believe that the Cobalt Building will provide us with enough space to accommodate this expansion.

“We operate across the whole of the north of England, as well as North Wales, so the location of Burnley Bridge Business Park, on the M65 corridor, is ideally suited to our needs, whilst still maintaining our strong position in the Burnley area.”

The Leeds-based development and investment firm’s scheme, opened by Business Secretary Vince Cable in February, provides a high standard of industrial and logistics accommodation.

The business park is expected to create 1,400 sustainable jobs once fully occupied.

James Chapman, managing director of Eshton, said they were also in talks with other operators. He said “We’re thrilled to have attracted three landmark tenants in a short period of time.”
