A 20-YEAR-OLD woman has told of her ordeal of being kept prisoner, and raped, before being trafficked to Burnley.

Preston Crown Court heard the woman say she kept pleading with her capt-ors to be allowed to go back to her home in eastern Slovakia but, instead, was forced to have sex with a man, and was assaulted.

Giving evidence on a video recording, the victim said she was “afraid” of being attacked by Imrich Bodor, 44, from Bradford, who is accused of trafficking her for exploitation.

Speaking through an interpreter, she said: “I was afraid that he would beat me up.

“I had seen it in his eyes. He had a very angry look.

“I was thinking how should I get away from here, but I was afraid to leave because I did not know the way I needed to go.”

The jury heard how Bodor allegedly slapped the woman on the face, leaving red marks, kicked her to the head and back, and tried to strangle her.

She told the court that he sent around five men to her bedroom during the time she spent at his house, and one of them raped her.

She said: “That man was not angry, or anything.

“He did not hit me like Azam Khan.”

The court had previously been told how the woman was then made to travel to England against her will.

She was said to have been kept in a house in Bradford by Bodor and Petra Dzud-zova, 25, also from Bradford, who is also accused of trafficking, before being sold to Burnley man Azam Khan for a sham marriage.

Khan, 34, is alleged to have raped her three times, and assaulted her twice, while keeping her prisoner at his auntie and uncle’s shop, in Brougham Street, Bur-nley.

He denies the charges.

Nusrat, 40, and Mashrafat Khan, 61, of Colne Road, Burnley, also deny charges of trafficking a person for exploitation under the Asylum and Immigration Act.

They are accused of hav-ing signed wedding documents at the fake marriage ceremony, at the Brougham Street Mosque.

Abdul Sabool Shinwary, of Girlington Road, Bradford, who is also on trial for trafficking a person for expl- oitation, was said to have acted as a ‘link’ between Asians and Eastern Europeans to arrange sham marriages.

Kristina Makunova, 36, of the same address, has admitted charges of facilitating travel to the UK, and false imprisonment.
