A DOOR at an unoccupied property was set alight in the early hours of today.
Firefighters were called to Queensberry Road in Burnley at 6.30am after reports of a fire at the house.
Acting watch manager Kieron Ogden said: “Somebody had broke the glass window in the front door and set fire to the back of the door using paper. The property had filled with smoke, but the fire was contained to the door.
“We gained access through the back door and used breathing apparatus and fans to remove the smoke from the building.
“No neighbours were affected and we are treating the fire as deliberate.”
