A ROAD safety group has organised an event in Highbridge to explain how to safely fit child car seats.
Somerset Road Safety has arranged for experts to be on hand to answer questions and explain safety seat laws between 10am and 2pm at Asda in Creechbarrow Road on Tuesday, September 4.
Selecting the correct child seat for the car and the age of the child, and ensuring it is fitted properly, is essential.
Previous checks have shown many seats are the wrong size, not compatible with the vehicle or are badly fitted.
Under the law, the driver is legally responsible for ensuring that children in the car are correctly restrained.
