Five Blackburn takeaways now reopened

FIVE Blackburn takeaways forced to close after investigations into illegal electricity usage have now re-opened.

Customers were ordered out of the premises, in Darwen Street, on October 9, after Electricity North West said an inspection revealed ‘unauthorised connections’ in the properties.

The takeaways were disconnected for up to 20 hours while work was carried out, leading to losses of food and trade.

Some owners complained they had been unfairly treated, as they done “everything above board”.

ENW said details of their investigations will be passed to police. A Lancashire Police spokesman said that, so far, no action had been taken.
