Blackburn Rovers signs up to help teach kids respect
9:00pm Tuesday 16th October 2012 in News
BLACKBURN Rovers Community Trust has announced this season’s programme of Respect workshops for local schools.
The national initiative, funded by npower, will see all 72 Football League trusts deliver lesson plans around the theme of ‘respect’ to 80,000 10 and 11-year-olds across the UK.
Rovers Community Trust will be aiming to run sessions for 1,200 pupils between now and the end of February.
Working with The Football League Trust, the Respect workshops have been designed to use young people’s love of football to encourage good behaviour.
Trust chief executive Gill Kinloch said: “We are delighted to be involved for the first time in this national programme, which seeks to promote and encourage good citizenship, respect and positive behaviour not only on the field of play but also in daily life routine.”
Schools can sign up by calling 01254 296256.
