Blackburn CCTV back in action

A BLACKBURN community leader has warned burglars that CCTV in his ward is now working.

Due to technical problems the camera, in a prime location at the junction of Whalley Range, Victoria Street and Randall Street was off for several weeks.

Jewellery and designer clothing stores have been targeted in a number of break-ins.

Hussain Akhtar, chairman of Whalley Range traders committee, said: “We just want robbers and criminals to know that they are being watched. People can now feel safe again knowing that the CCTV is back on.”

The country needs more cctv. I feel far safer walking in areas with cctv than those without.
After all, I've nothing to hide so nothing to fear.
