Ribble Valley woman cut from crash

A LONGRIDGE road was closed for almost two hours while a woman was cut out of her car.

Police said the woman was driving a red Ford Fiesta along Langdale Road at 2pm on Tuesday when a white Citroen Dispatch van crashed into the back of it at the junction of Preston Road.

Firefighters were called to cut the roof off the Fiesta, as the woman was complaining of neck pain.

She was taken to hospital for checks, but it is not though her injuries were serious.

The road was reopened at 3.40pm.
