Care home probe after key failures

AN Accrington care home that has been told to improve by the Care Quality Commission, is also being investigated by Lancashire County Council.

Addison Court , Addison Street, failed three out of five key Govern ment standards in a recent inspection. Problems included staffing levels, staff training, and maintaining dignity of residents.

Of the 48 current residents, 26 of whom are funded by Lancashire County Council.

Ann Mylie, head of quality and contracting at Lancashire County Council, said: "We are currently looking at the quality of care at Addison Court, together with our colleagues in the Care Quality Commission.

"The health and wellbeing of all residents is of paramount importance, and we will work closely with the home to ensure that residents receive the quality of care they deserve at all times."
