Little Harwood residents unlikely to get alley gates

RESIDENTS of Little Harwood have asked Blackburn with Darwen Council to gate two alleyways.

Householders in Beardsworth and Warrington Streets want the lockable barriers installed to prevent nightime anti-social behaviour, and fly-tipping.

They have submitted a petition to the borough’s executive board, on Thursday.

Officers are recommending the request be added to the council’s “Gate It” database, and be reviewed in 12 months as, currently, crime and rubbish dumping levels do not meet the thresholds for urgent installation.

These gates are on some alleys in Blackburn and the residents still dump rubbish in the alley. So maybe this is why the council has rejected it.,
