Call to East Lancashire mums and dads over games study
11:09am Tuesday 9th October 2012 in News
PARENTS are being invited to take part in a study examining attitudes towards children’s gaming habits.
Dr Julie Prescott and her team from the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) School of psychology are looking for parents of children under 16 who play computer games several times a week to take part in a study.
The study consists of a short online anonymous questionnaire that will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
The team will question parents’ attitudes towards their child's computer game and internet usage, as well as the ways in which they monitor, control and influence their use of these technologies.
The aim of the university research is to understand parents’ perceptions about these issues and to understand if parents needed more information and guidance.
