Car club marks Pendle witch trials with Ribble Valley rally

LANCASHIRE Automobile Club is commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Lancashire Witch trials by reviving the Demdyke Rally.

Last run in the 1970s, the event will take the form of a treasure hunt, starting at 5.45pm in Whalley Golf Club car park, in Clerk Hill Road, on Wednesday, October 24.

Entrants will be given a route sheet, with questions, leading around Pendle Hill. The finish is at Shackletons Home and Garden Centre in Chatburn between 7pm and 7.15pm.

Entry is £5 and entrants are urged to wear witches’ costumes.

To book a place, contact David Bell on 07850 658600 or email HonSec@LancsAuto Club.com.
