Musical moment for Bupa care homes in Blackburn and Burnley

RESIDENTS in Bupa care homes in Blackburn and Burnley are preparing to bring musical legends to life as part of a Musical Moments week.

Musical Moments is aimed at promoting the therapeutic benefits music offers, including improved recall and a boost of self-esteem.

Dove Court Residential and Nursing Home in Burnley is hosting an acoustic musical party and is inviting members of the community to join staff and residents today.

The highlight of the celebrations will be a sing-along performance from 2.30pm.

Ellen Pepper, care home manager, said: “Ellen Pepper, care home manager, said: “We’re going to get everyone involved in celebrating how powerful music is in lifting spirits, getting minds dancing and toes tapping.”

A 1940s and 1950s music event will also be open to the community at Old Gates Residential and Nursing Home in Blackburn on Monday from 2pm.
