Expect prison, Clayton-le-Moors burglar is told

A MAN who burgled a family home in the early hours after a drinking session has been warned he faces jail.

Burnley Crown Court heard how Lee Bennison, 22, left the victim feeling violated and vulnerable. He was said to have taken a TV and dumped it in a garden after going to the house to see someone and being refused entry.

Bennison was on a suspended sentence and a community order at the time.

Judge Beverley Lunt, who said she had read a 'plethora' of medical reports on Bennison, said the public would want him to go to prison.

She adjourned the case for another report but said the defendant shouldn't read anything into it at all.

The defendant, of Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors, had admitted burglary and had been committed for sentence by magistrates. Judge Lunt told him: “Prison is inevitable."
