£13k fund boost for Maddi' s Butterflies

A TOTAL of £13,442 was raised in memory of Madison Allan at a party for what would have been her eighth birthday.

The money, including a £10,000 contribution from Altham-based IT distributor Micro-P, will go towards the charity Maddi’s Butterflies, set up after the Lower Darwen schoolgirl’s death on Boxing Day last year.

It aims to give special treats to children suffering from rare cancers and to support their families.

Her mum Samantha, of Lord’s Crescent, said: “This is an amazing amount for our first event. Thank you everybody who contributed. You can proudly say you have helped put a smile back on childrens’ faces.”

Madison’s uncle Simon Foster works at Micro-P who have backed previous fundraising initiatives.

Now they have taken Maddi’s Butterflies on as their charity for the year.
