Public urged to vote for Lancashire police commissioner

THERE are less than 50 days until Lancashire votes for its first-ever Police and Crime Commissioner.

Lancashire Police Authority (LPA) is encouraging residents to have their say at the election on November 15.

The election will see the LPA replaced by a Police and Crime Commissioner who will be responsible for setting the policing budget and will be the voice of the county when it comes to tackling crime.

Lancashire Police Authority chief executive Miranda Carruthers-Watt, right, said: “We want the people of Lancashire to feel involved and engaged in this election.

“The candidate who is chosen will have a lot of responsibility when it comes to policing and tackling crime in Lancashire.”
