3:35pm Tuesday 25th September 2012 in News
AN ‘INSPIRING’ new sports training programme is being held for volunteers in the wake of the Olympic Games.
A training course for new volunteers motivated by the Olympic and Paralympic Games is being held in Hyndburn at the start of next month.
One of the official legacy programmes from London 2012, the ‘Sports Makers’ scheme is available for anyone aged 16 and over who would like to become a community sports volunteer.
Adam Blezard, Hyndburn Leisure’s 2012 legacy officer, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to get into volunteering. Whether the Games has inspired you to gather a few friends to go for a run or to join a local community sports club, there should be something for everyone.”
The course takes place from 6.30pm to 9pm at the New Era Complex, Accrington on Monday October 1.
A limited number of places are available on a first come first served basis. Visit www.everyday-champions.co.uk.
