Seven East Lancashire men bailed on ‘conspiracy to burgle’ charges

SEVEN men faced magistrates charged with conspiracy to commit burglaries over an eight-month period.

The court heard many of the burglaries were committed at mosques and Asian-owned restaurants in Blackburn, Burnley, Colne, Accrington and Preston.

Retail tool outlets were also targeted and in one raid in Blackburn, equipment worth £50,000 was stolen.

Carl Arron Cumberland, 30, of Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle, Liam Cumberland, 26, of Lytham Road, Blackburn, Sean Andrew Cumberland, 31, of Accrington Road, Blackburn, Daniel Paul Darani, 31, of Douglas Place, Blackburn, Darren Wallace Jeal, 42, of Brodick Road, Blackburn, James Ross O’Neil 29, of Higher South Street, Darwen, and Stuart David Ainsworth, 40, of Shaw Street, Blackburn, were sent to Preston Crown Court charged with conspiring to commit burglary at commercial premises and mosques between November 2011 and June 2012.

All seven were bailed pending their appearance at Crown Court.
