Witton Park and Darwen Vale High Schools' Saturday open day

PARENTS, possible pupils and just the curious can take a look at two of Blackburn with Darwen’s new state-of-the-art schools tomorrow.

Witton Park and Darwen Vale High Schools are holding community open days and everyone is invited.

Residents across the borough can use facilities in the new schools from ICT, indoor and outdoor fitness and sports equipment, libraries and resource centres.

The schools opened earlier this month and Darwen Vale High has been remodelled and rebuilt, keeping the iconic frontage.

Darwen Vale’s community open day will be held from 9am to 12pm and Witton Park’s takes place from 1pm to 4pm.

There will be a second open day there on Saturday, September 29, between 9am and 12pm.

Coun Tony Humphrys, the council’s executive member for education, said: “These new and rebuilt schools are simply amazing to look at and will provide a top-class, 21st-century education for pupils right across the borough and the community as a whole — they are open to all.”

I just wonder when are Darwen Vale going to publish their exam results for 2012.

We all know that there are issues with the marking of the English GCSE, however, all schools have he same problem. I therefore can not see why the continued delay in publishing them.

Other schools including St Bedes and DACA have published their results.

Come on Vale let us know how you did, or have you got something to hide.
