Police officers in Lancashire sorrow over Manchester shootings
POLICE officers in Lancashire have sent their condolences to the families of two policewomen gunned down in Manchester.
PC Fiona Bone, 32 and PC Nicola Hughes, 23, were shot dead after responding to a burglary call on Tuesday.
Chief Constable of Lancashire Police, Steve Finnigan, said: “Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this hugely difficult time and we have passed on our condolences to the families of the two officers killed.
“It is a stark reminder of the dangers associated with our job and the ultimate sacrifice that, sadly, some of our colleagues make in order to keep others safe.”
Dale Cregan, 29, is being questioned over the deaths and a second man was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident at a house in Mottram.
