RIBBLE Valley MP Nigel Evans has welcomed plans to charge foreign lorries up to £1,000 a year to use British roads.
He said: “For too long, British hauliers have been at a financial disadvantage and these proposals will create a level playing field for them.
“It has always struck me as unfair that British lorries have to pay when abroad but foreign lorries have never had to pay to use UK roads.”
