Blackburn man fined over thefts

A BLACKBURN man who stole a pair of Babyliss hair tongs worth £40, plus beer, a whole chicken and a sandwich has been fined £300.
Lee Brown, 36, of Bolton Road, admitted stealing the tongs from Wilkinson’s on March 25, food from Spar on March 28 and beer from Bargain Booze on June 24 at Hyndburn Magistrates’ Court.
He was not ordered to pay compensation or court costs because of the length of time spent in custody.
