Two injured in Blackburn street fight

AN investigation is underway after a man was assaulted in the Hollin Bridge Street area of Blackburn in the early hours of today.

Police have sealed off an area bounded by Hamilton Street, Exeter Street and Grafton Street, after violence broke just after 4am.

Insp Ilyas Mohammed, of Blackburn Police, said investigations were still continuing into the incident. Firefighters from Blackburn also assisted with first aid treatement at the scene.

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said two casualties, one a 39-year-old man, were taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment to unspecified injuries. Paramedics also treated both men at the scene and required a second ambulance for the second patient.

liddle 'un says...

Was born a bred in this area, went to Emmanuel C of E junior school. Used to be populated by decent, honest, working class people.

Although there are some of the original people, now seems to be occupied by druggies, animal perverts and benefit scroungers.

Hit nail on the head liddle'un, I also grew up around there and lived there for some 20 odd years. When I visit the area now, all I see are feral kids , fat women in pyjamas, boarded up windows, broken glass and litter everywhere. Its a great shame because all the decent people that have lived there are being outnumbered by the filth and scum.

was me who phoned the police 4.10am saturday morning,watched the fight from my bedroom window.absolutely shaking! was a pack of animals on him,threw a wheelie bin on his head,kicking him,punching,they'd battered him with a metal bar an heard they had an hammer,banged on the window at em to stop,soon as they seen me,they scattered,thankfully the police were quick,2 mins an they were there,2 fire engines helped out too,ambulance didnt get there for at least 20 mins

yep liddle 'un youre right,ive lived here 9 years,an was so quiet,no trouble,me an my partner work full time,living around us now are gypsies,girls sat out middle of the day in their pj's,teenage mums,littered streets,sick of pulling beer cans out my hedge every other weekend,no respect for anyone!
