Two in hospital after serious brawl in Blackburn

TWO men are in hospital with serious head injuries after a street brawl in Blackburn.

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the fight, on the junction of Sumner Street and Islington in the town centre, at around 2am on Friday.

A gang were at the scene, behind the Royal Mail sorting office, when police arrived.

The two men were found with head injuries and are being treated at the Royal Blackburn Hospital . Their condition is described as serious but not life threatening.

Three men aged 22, 25 and 49 years old, a 15-year-old boy and a 46-year-old woman from Blackburn have all been arrested on suspicion of assault and an investigation has been launched.

Crime scene investigators carried out forensic examinations and officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector Mark Vaughton, from Blackburn CID, said: “An investigation has been launched following an incident that took place in the early hours of this morning.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at around 2am and who may have witnessed something to come forward and contact us.

“It is believed that these people were known to each other and enquiries are underway to establish exactly what has happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Blackburn CID on 101.

People with information can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Prey, please tell us where it is safe day or night, and which Village, Town or City it might be.

Don't get me wrong there is nobody with a bigger hang up on Blackburn than me but, it ain't just Blackburn.

in every community we have mindless, moronic and waste of space individuals who call themselves "human beings", the words scum, trash and garbage come to mind and should be dealt with as such.

We live in a society of do gooders, a society where the Justice system continually looks for the best in the worst of people and administer soft justice accordingly, with sometimes an holiday as recompense for society putting them in these compromising situations.

That's my moan for the weekend done

I quite like the Saudi justice system, although perhaps not as brutal.

Anyone who commits Murder, hang em, Rape - chop off an arm, Burgle a house chop off an arm..

After a while, the place would be quite (h)armless.

Why chop off an arm for rape? Robbery, yes an arm but it seems the wrong appendage for rape. Then again, if it were a WOMAN who'd raped, what would you chop off then?

What about the strain placed on our economy because we would have to cater for and accommodate all these people who had had limbs removed? I agree our judicial system needs a serious looking at and things should be more of a deterrent than a stay in one of her majesties holiday camps, but let’s face it, following some barbaric culture isn’t really the answer is it?

Oh yes it is! What, with these and the two guys in Hollin Bridge Street? What do they do when two dogs are fighting out of control - put 'em down. Now, if we deployed this method what would be the cost per individual - 1 x syringe, 1 x lethal dose, 1 x cremation/burial, wages for personell plus admin! Thats it, one off capital expenditure!!
No more welfare costs, housing costs, police costs, detention/jail costs, hospital admissions for these individuals! Simples :-)

I know, I know, the cotton industry peaked early 1900's and it is been downhill every since.

Mass immigration, at the behest of a lunatic left wing minority, totally unnecessary to support a dying industry.

Deluded fools, expecting some form of easy social integration, which because of the unpleasant religion of the newcomers, was destined to failure.

Mass immigration at the request of the right wing mill owners. They gave the jobs to the immigrants.
