Firefighters rescue Blackburn boy with hand trapped in toy

A TWO-year-old boy had to be released from one of his toys by the fire service after getting his hand stuck.

A worried mum called Blackburn firefighters to their Bank Hey View home in Blackburn at around 3.30pm on Monday after getting his hand stuck while playing.

Crew manager David Hornby said: “The little boy had a few tears when we arrived but we talked to him.

“His mum couldn’t get his arm out but we were able to dismantle the toy using a screwdriver. He didn’t have any injuries.

“As soon as he saw the fire engine outside he was laughing and smiling again.”
