Get a behind-the-scenes look at Blackburn police station

RESIDENTS in East Lancashire are invited to a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the police.

Greenbank Police Station will open its doors on September 16 for a rare opportunity to tour the communications department, CCTV room and the cells.

Visitors can also meet the police horses and dogs and speak to armed officers, while seeing some of the constabulary’s vehicles and some classic police cars.

Information about other organisations and volunteering opportunities within the police, including Special Constables, will also be available. The free event will also include activities for young people including the possibility to try on police uniforms and uncovering clues in the ‘crime scene’ room. There will also be a climbing wall, games and a competition.

The event will be held between 11am and 4pm, at Greenbank police station, in Whitebirk Drive, Blackburn.

I still say let the police have back their authority to stop noisy neighbours like they did way back when. This " environmental protection agency " is a huge twoddle.
