Blackburn with Darwen leader vows to spend council tax effectively
1:16pm Friday 31st August 2012 in News
COUNCIL leader Kate Hollern last night set out her priorities for making Blackburn with Darwen a place where everybody enjoys a decent standard of living.
She set out the key priorities for the borough as she unveiled the Labour leadership’s plan for the coming three years to shape how its spends council taxpayers’ money.
Coun Hollern, right, said the priority objectives for residents are:
- Creating more jobs and supporting business growth;
- Improving housing quality and building more houses;
- Improving health and well-being;
- Improving outcomes for our young people through education and skills;
- Supporting and helping the most vulnerable; and
- Making people’s money go further by supporting households in difficult times through efficient use of council tax.
She said: “We are determined to help by delivering high-quality services by making the most of the money we have.”

PS: How are you getting on regarding the never seeming to end problems of street prostitution and drug dealing within Blackburn, particularly your own patch? Nothing further has been reported since these concerns were once again brought to your attention. Has anything been done and if yet why?

Improving housing quality and building more houses;= building new housing for larger families of the community and their extended families!
Improving health and well-being; = creating more community centers and astro turf all weather pitches so the youth of the communities can meet and play cricket or sell drugs!
Improving outcomes for our young people through education and skills;
Supporting and helping the most vulnerable; = helping council staff retain their jobs when they are obviously totally incompetent, can't do simple Math and wouldn't have a job in the real world if they were the last unemployed immigrant in the country!, and
Making people’s money go further by supporting households in difficult times through efficient use of council tax. = spending as much as we can and then robbing the CT payers by Fraud by False Misrepresentation to get more money to spend.......

Michael@ClitheroeSinI'm -1 at the moment but deep down you know I'm right Gordon was the best thing you ever had. A few years back I was shopping in ASDA I got to the checkouts and was served by some young girl who just slated him in front of me. I was about to agree with her when I thought to my self this girls life has so much to gain from Gordon she is seeding the seeds of her own destruction. The Banks failed not Gordon

Creating more jobs and supporting business growth;= employing another 30 Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Outreach Workers, on top of the 30 we already employ, so that those with issues, that don't work for the council, can get counseling!

Anyway. Would the funding for this be from charity/central government/NHS, rather than the town hall?
Can't help but think you are a bitter old queen getting her kicks complaining about the poor public sector staff who just do as they are told.

Actually, one of the GBT outreach team was on here crying a while back that they may be one of 30 GBT workers that may lose their jobs due to cuts so if you believe we need 30 of them, regardless who pays for them, you must be in the know about GBT's and how many there are in Blackburn needing this help outside of the council staff.
I think you'll find that the only bitter old queen is the retarded public sector worker in the CT dep. that gets their kicks off being a complete retard that can't add up or admit to making a mistake so abuses the legal process to suit themselves and then starts a personal vendetta against the person points out their mistake. Maybe they've been fiddling the CT and stealing the extra money themselves and to avoid being found out they try to make me look like the person in the wrong!
When the council start remembering that they actually work for us and have to follow rules the same as they expect us to follow rules then maybe people will have a bit more respect for them.
Maybe they will do this when my MP and the LGO get involved until then i will continue to slate them as and when the opportunity presents itself!

So in order to spend council tax more effectively than before you must have been spending it inneffectively to begin with. You're fired.
