Blackburn Rovers fans have set out their stall highlighting their campaign calling on the club’s owners Venky’s to “communicate” with them.

Members of the BRFC Action Group have a stall in Blackburn Market to encourage more people to sign up and raise funds.

The aim is to “give Rovers fans a voice” and seek answers from the owners over their future plans.

Secretary Mark Fish said: “As a group, the long term is not solely about Steve Kean or Venky’s. It is about the long-term protection of Rovers and to hold any future owners accountable for what happens.

“With Steve Kean and Venky’s it has gone bad. It’s now about sustaining communication channels between supporters and the club for this regime and any future regimes.

“The club was broken at the end of the season. Since then the owners haven’t come out and made an apology or made a statement of intent about what their future plans are.

“They have come along and said, ‘we are confused, give us a month’ and then they’ve appointed Shebby Singh as global director and that’s fine.

“But they need to come out and make their intentions clear. Club communication has not been acceptable or improved this summer.”

The stall is stelling keyrings, T-shirts, wristbands and has membership forms available. It is open from 9am to 5pm all week.

Andy Woods, supporters liaison, said: “We want as many people as possible to come down to the stall and support what we’re trying to do and make the town aware that the group is working for the benefit of Blackburn Rovers.”

Around 500 fans are expected to attend a special meeting with Mr Singh at Blakeys, King George’s Hall, on Saturday at 10am.

Other panelists include Blackburn Council leader Kate Hollern and Sir Bill Taylor.

They will think they have communicated. That's part of Shebby Singh's role surely?

I am a bit unsure about all this. I agree we need to open channels to talk with Venky's. What I worry about is that if they do suddenly pull out what will happen to the club. Can we cover wages, debt, overdraft? They can do that against assets. What assets do a supporters group have? Tread carefully because if Venky's pull out suddenly it is not in the interests of the club.

yes we know Shebby , "everyone restarts with a clean slate" your opinion but not OURS.
A "clean slate" we don`t have a clean slate , when "V" arrived we had a Premier league team with well respected management and some real GOOD quality players , and good coaches , now we have KEAN and HENDRY or LAUREL and HARDY , what a pair a fat baldy one and a tall skinny stupid one.

The mindless getting organised. Personally I trust the judgement of Venkys and any other chicken farmers for that matter over any Blackburn supporters group. There are no issues at the club. We arent entitled to any sort of apology. We shouldnt need constant communication and reassurance. We dont need defenders. Steve Kean is absolutely fine as manager. Steve Kean is a football manager for those who are unable to grasp the fact. There is no "asset stripping" taking place. We are in perfectly capable hands. Relegation happens. Get over it and look forward to getting behind all at the club for a successful season. Honestly, deliberate about something which you have the capacity to understand. Football worryingly is beyond some people. Stop manufacturing phantom problems.

Good luck to all concerned and give Shebby some sharp and difficult questions !!!

well said Shad mum.....without the efforts of Brsit and Brag there would be no chance of any meetings with anyone. They have handled the campaign in a quiet and intelligent manner and good luck to their continued efforts to try and get to the bottom of this mess and get some common sense out of our invisible owners.

Are you employed by Venkys? If not your posting is patronising and unfair to genuine Rovers fans who care deeply about their club. Who are you to adopt such a superior attitude, implying that you know better than concerned, long term supporters who have seen their club reduced from mid-table Premiership status to the current sad state of affairs thanks to hopeless mismanagement by owners and an inadequate manager who is obviously out of his depth?

As long as the Venkys are in charge we will get no communication from them, other than from some ex Malaysian non league player, who did some tv work for ESPN Asia.
-
The Venkys Indian culture means that they see the fans as being inferior pond life, not worthy of requiring an explanation to.
-
They forgot about their business diploma teaching, about the customer. The customer is always right and the customer comes first.
-
VENKYS OUT
DONUT KEAN OUT
GIVE US ROVERS BACK

Well done to this Action Group. I see they are trying to build a real fans group and should be applauded for this.
I'm not a member as yet but pretty sure I will be soon.
Take a look at their website www.brfcactiongroup.
co.uk
I was genuinely surprised to see how well run, professional, and well backed by civil leaders they have become.

just wondering when the old market closed we lost a lot of good stalls due to rent increase and contracts, even some stalls now have closed due to costs, so how are these paying for the stall, and will they have had to sign the same contract other stall holders have had to sign?

Sadly it won't make a blind bit of difference, I have said previously the only thing Venky's understand is money. Keep yours in your pocket and that will bring them to the table. Yes the club will suffer initially, but that is the chance fans have to take. Bluff and double bluff.

Surely it would be in the market's interests to offer the stall/area for free in order to attract more people in and increase business for other stall holders? Just a thought.

Some people will buy any old tat. Give it 2 seasons and the merchandise will be sporting the Evostick logo following Rovers liquidation and reformation in the Evostick Division 1 North!

They will probably get a bigger crowd for their home game against Colne Dynamos than they will at any home fixture this season.

where has "iconoclast" been living for the past two seasons. He must inhabit the same euphoric paradise as "Mitty Keane" Review the actual fact of what has happened not the Keanstyle fantasies. An old git like me can't even remember anything so tradgicomical happening at the club before now. It the actually sign Jordan Rhodes then I will believe.
