East Lancashire NHS Trust HR worker shortlisted for award

EAST Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is celebrating after a member of their human resources team was recognised in a regional award ceremony.

Jane Butcher was shortlisted in the NHS North West HR Student Awards 2012 in two categories, taking the highly commended status in the HR/OD Role Model / Contribution to the Profession category, and she was a runner up in the category for outstanding achievement in Patient Centred HR.

Jane, from Burnley, who is based at Royal Blackburn Hospital, was nominated by her manager, David Smithson.

Ian Brandwood, director of HR at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “I am particularly proud of Jane.

“As an experienced HR practitioner she decided to supplement that experience by undertaking her formal CIPD qualification, and as a result has further improved her practice and added additional value to the surgical division.”

Jane received her award at the NHS North West Human Resources Student Conference and Awards in Haydock.

She said: “I was thrilled to be nominated and then to receive the news that I was short listed in two categories was an honour, especially the award for Outstanding Achievement in Patient Centred HR.”

What about nurses being recognised for their jobs! While I worked there I was bullied by senior management and HR did nothing but side with them till I became ill and had to leave!
