Cocaine seized in Blackburn and Darwen following police raids
DRUGS valued at £2,200 have been seized and seven people arrested in a series of police raids in Blackburn and Darwen.
Cocaine and cannabis were found by officers during Operation Iceberg.
Lancashire police officers raided three addresses in Pringle Street and Fountains Avenue, Blackburn, and Belgrave Road in Darwen.
Three men aged 20, 46 and 49 and a 19-year-old woman, were arrested and are currently being questioned by police on suspicion of drugs offences.
A further three men, aged 21, 21 and 39 were arrested after drugs warrants at addresses on Brotherston Drive and Cavendish Place on Wednesday.
They were all released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Around 40 rocks of what is believed to be crack cocaine, worth an estimated £1,000, cannabis valued at £1,200, and £2,000 in cash was seized from the addresses.
DI Mark Winstanley said: “It’s a large amount of drugs.
“This operation has been carried out in response to concerns from the public and I hope people are reassured that the police do listen to their concerns and will take action.
“We know that drug use often linked to other crime such as burglary and theft and we will continue to target those believed to be involved.”
