Academy 'teacher' on pupil sex charge

A 26-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court charged with sexual assault on a boy, 14, and abuse of his position of trust.
The charges against Christopher Midgley, of Brookside, Coppull, Chorley, involve a pupil at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy where Midgley was a member of the teaching staff.
The offences allegedly took place over two years.
Midgley, who is also a Chorley Scout leader, has been suspended by the school and the Scouts.
He was bailed and his case will be heard at Preston Crown Court.
