Woman pedestrian seriously injured in Great Harwood

A PEDESTRIAN is fighting for life after being involved in a collision in Great Harwood.

The 30-year-old woman was walking across Whitehead Supermarket car park, in Park Street, when she was involved in a low speed collision with a car on Friday evening.

The woman suffered a broken ankle and a suspected fractured skull shortly after 8.15pm.

Paramedics were called to the scene and took the woman, who is thought to live in the town, to the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

She was later transferred to the Royal Preston Hospital where her condition was this afternoon described as ‘serious’.

What injuries do you expect the driver to have you muppet.? a bust nose from his airbag maybe or a sprained wrist opening the door perhaps.? how could the driver be injured what a stupid thing to come out with just to have a go at the reporter.
Hope the lady makes a full recovery.

Hope the poor lady makes a full recovery. That car park and part of Queen Street is so dark. It's about time the pedestrian crossing was switched on between Whiteheads and Tesco before someone else gets knocked down.
