A CYCLIST has died in hospital ten days after being hit by a car on a busy East Lancashire road.
53-year-old Ian Hammel, from Penwortham, collided with a Skoda Favia on the A59 near Myerscough Road, Samlesbury, close to BAE Systems, at 7.05am on Wednesday, September 29.
Mr Hamell was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital following the collision but he passed away on Saturday night.
The driver of the Skoda was not injured.
The road was closed for around two and a half hours.
