Here's how some people across the region are raising money this year:

  • Rossendale actor, Anthony Cotton, better known as Coronation Street's Sean Tulley, is limbering up to take part in the Sainsbury's Sport Relief mile in Manchester on Sunday.
  • Darwen supermarket singing queen Krissie Atkin will be warbling for Sports Relief at Sainbury's in Redearth Road all day on Saturday.
  • Cumberland Upper school pupils are putting their running shoes on tomorrow to complete their Sport Relief mile at Witton Park, Blackburn.
  • Staff and children from Busy Bees Nursery in Brooke St, Chorley are wearing sports clothing today while taking part in a sponsored walk to Chorley FC's Victory Park football ground.
  • Blackburn Rovers-supporting MP Tim Farron has been challenged to swap shirts with a friend, who is a Burnley fan. The Lib Dem MP will wear the claret and blue shirt and aims to raise £500 for Sport Relief. To sponsor him email tim@timfarron.co.uk.
  • Burnley cricketer James Anderson joined Burnley FC supporter Tony Livesey and fellow Radio Lancashire presenter Graham Liver took part in a Sport Relief all-celebrity Dragon Boat Challenge. Livesey, who captained his team to victory in the event at Salford Quays said: I don't want to say this, but it was all down to me!”
